| Abstract: | Seven normal Macaco assnensis were inoculated with serum of patients with either acute or chronic hepatitis B. After inoculation, the liver function test and serology of HBV by RPHA, ELISA, SPRIA. and hybridization spot test were examined. The biopsied liver specimens were examined by histopathology and by electron microscopy, and for intrahepatic HBsAg, HBcAg and HBV-DNA. The results showed that the animals were positive for SGPT, HBsAg, anti-HBs, anti-HBc and HBV-DNA, the liver pathology agrees with that of patients of acute hepatitis B. In some biopsied monkey, HBsAg and HBV-DNA were demonstrated in the hepato-cytes. |
