Abstract: | Using the patch-clamp technique the kinetics of whole-cell andsingle channel inwardly rectifying K+ currents were measuredin enzymatically-isolated protoplasts from Avena sativa mesophyllleaf cells. The hyperpolarization-activated whole-cell currenthad an initial K+ component (IKI) and a time-dependent K+ componentwhich reaches steady state (IKSS) within 500 ms. After an initialdelay, the activation of IKss and the deactivation of the tailK+ current (IKT) followed an exponential time course. The time-constantsof activation ( |
