| Abstract: | Estradiol-17 beta increases the production of prostaglandin F2 alpha (PGF2 alpha) in long term monolayer cell cultures of the human endometrium in a dose dependent manner. Progesterone in pharmacological dosage stimulates the syntheses of PGF2 alpha and of prostaglandin E2 (PGE2). The synthesis of prostaglandin I2 (PGI2) is not influenced by sex steroids in long term monolayer cell cultures of the human endometrium. |
