Abstract: | We examined the effects of simultaneous treatments with Cd and Ni on the phytochelatin (PC) biosynthesis in suspension-cultured tobacco (Nicotiana tobacum cv. Bright Yellow-2) cells. The induction of PC biosynthesis in response to Cd was not affected by the coexistence of Ni. Cd and Ni formed complexes with different compounds in cells. |
