Abstract: | Crystals have been obtained of a subunit of Limulus polyphemus hemocyanin. The blue crystals have the symmetry of the space group R32 with hexagonal lattice parameters , . There is one 70,000 molecular weight subunit per asymmetric unit. Each subunit contains two non-heme copper atoms and can reversibly bind one oxygen molecule. |
