Abstract: | An increase of cytosolic Ca2 in theunicellular green alga Eremosphaera viridis activitiesCa2-dependentK channels causing a hyperpolarization ofthe plasma membrane. Data from parallel calcium, and potential measurementswere combined with I/V relationships. This yielded asteep Ca2-dependence ofK channels with a co-operativity of 4 andan affinity of 300 nM.Key words: Eremosphaera viridis,plasma membrane, Ca2-dependentK channel, co-operative binding. |
