Abstract: | Dominance of spiral patterns in some macromolecular solutions has been studied from the point of view of the low-energy electromagnetic vortical field theory. It is proposed that the elements of patterns of folded macromolecules as dipole entities are packed with an orientation determined by a background field while still in a liquid crystalline stage. Experimental evidence is presented by the growth of polystyrene crystals and the use of electrically sensitive dye staining and optical techniques that do not influence the pattern formation. |
