Abstract:One hour after injection of the potent opiate antagonist 3H-diprenorphine (125 μCi, 13 Ci/mmole) 75–85% of the drug is associated with opiate receptor sites. Autoradiography of fresh frozen unfixed brain has been carried out to visualize receptor distribution. Dense clusters of autoradiographic grains are highly localized in the caudate-putamen, locus coeruleus, zona compacta of the substantia nigra and the substantia gelatinosa.
