Abstract: | A new species of Ascaridia from Australian parrots is described. The type host is Psephotus haematogaster. The special features of the new species differentiating it from other species reported from parrots are lips with single cutting ridge without cup-like structures, small interlabia present, non-alate spicules and caudal papillae arranged in two distinct rows on each side, anterior row of four, posterior row of five or six. |
