| Abstract: | A mathematical model and a computer program for its implementation have been developed to predict the distribution of plasmid copy numbers in the individual cells of a microbial population. The kinetics of accumulation of plasmid-free cells. the copy number distribution within the population and the mean copy number can all be calculated using the computer program. The model has been shown to accurately predict these parameters for recombinant plasmids in yeast populations. |
