| Abstract: | A selective domiciliary immunisation service has been introduced for preschool children living in the Central Manchester Health District. The service is provided for the children of parents who have given written consent for immunisation but have subsequently failed to bring their children to the clinic or their general practitioner''s surgery to start or complete the basic course of immunisation against diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, poliomyelitis, and measles. This failure has occurred despite at least two written invitations for each injection and several reminders from the health visitor. Many additional children have been protected by this scheme. |
