Abstract:There have been many recent developments in malaria genetics, with much information coming from the field of drug resistance. The findings of classical genetic crossing experiments, together with data from sequencing Plasmodium genomes and the powerful new tools of population genetics, are beginning to explain the ingenuity of Plasmodium at evading the control measures used against it so far.
