| Abstract: | Contributing studies in the advent and utilization of planktonpumping systems are compared and evaluated. Basic terminologyand design considerations are discussed, and related to thehistorical use of pump systems, as well as to criteria for futuredesigns Such in situ considerations are also applied to theuse of towed nets, and are used as a basis of comparison forfishing efficiency and practicality. |
