Studies on the distributions of Apodemus sylvaticus (L.) and A. flavicollis (Melchior) in Britain

The known distributions of A. sylvaticus and A. flavicollis were examined with respect to four woodland classifications and two soil types. The distribution of A. flavicollis in Britain is associated with drier areas and with the distribution of mature, deciduous woodland. A. sylvaticus is found in both wet and dry areas and is distributed independently of deciduous woodland.
