Abstract: | An immunostimulating polysaccharide was produced extracellularly by suspension cell culture of Angelica gigas Nakai. The polysaccharide was larger in molecular weight than that obtained from the extract of A. gigas root. It was mainly composed of arabinose, galactose, galacturonic acid, protein, Ca2+ and Mg2+, and stimulated the mixed lymphocyte reaction activity as potently as the polysaccharide obtained from the plant root. |
