| Abstract: | Summary Pentoses in aqueous acidic solutions were analysed by conversion to furfurals in a gas chromatograph containing a porous polymer packed column at 200°C. Hexoses, volatile fatty acids and fermentation media did not interfere with the measurement of pentoses. |
