Abstract:A month of close observations of a stable and well composed group (one adult male, two adult females, two sub-adults, four juveniles and one infant) of captive De Brazza monkeys (Cercopithecus neglectus) provided an ethogram of their daily activities. Their behaviors were defined and categorized and the relative occurrence of each was indicated. Dominance and agonistic interactions were infrequent. Adults were mostly engaged in foraging and sitting. Play predominated in the immature animals. The social structure of the De Brazza's appears to be a small group, non-confrontation organization with minimal proximity of individual monkeys.
