Effect of fungicides,insecticides and allosamidin on a thermostable chitinase from Bacillus sp. BG-11

A purified, thermostable chitinase from Bacillus sp. BG-11 retained 90% of its activity in the presence of fungicides such as Aromex, Captafol, Captan, Chlorothalonil, Dinocap, Metalaxyl, sulphur, Triadimefon, and insecticides such as Acephate, Chloropyriphos, Cypermethrin, Diclovorus, Dimethoate, Methomyl, Malathion, Methylparathion and Monocrotophos at a concentration of 100 g active ingredient per ml of enzyme solution. Allosamidin inhibited the chitinase with IC₅₀ value of 48 M.
