Abstract: | Optical, fluorescence and EPR spectra of azurin from Pseudomonas aeruginosa are described. Some properties of this protein are found to be similar to those of copper-containing proteins from plants (plastocyanin and plantacyanin). The interaction of ferricyanide with azurin bleached in alkaline media results in the formation of free radicals and an alteration in the shape of the EPR signal of azurin. |
