| Abstract: | After a brief history of the emergence of modern therapy for acute ST-elevation myocardial infarction, we discuss the issues that dominate ongoing studies and are the focus of intense debates. The role of angiography, pharmacotherapy, thrombus aspiration, management of multi-vessel disease, mechanical complications and cardiogenic shock and the quest for myocardial salvage are discussed. |
