Abstract: | Labeled acetic acids are incorporated by hops into desoxycohumulone, desoxyhumulone, humulone, colupulone and lupulone. The incorporation of acetic acid is considered in relation to the mixed isoprenoid-polyketide origin of these bitter principles. |
