Abstract:	The enkephalin analog, D-Ala², Δ^zPhe⁴ amide, has been prepared and shown to be five times as active as D-Ala²-methionine enkephalin amide $in vitro$ and the dehydrophenylalanine moiety conferred complete stability to chymotrypsin on the peptide.
