Abstract:
A modified method for detecting amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) has been developed for species with small genomes. We successfully used a combination of primers with a reduced number of selective bases to differentiate and fingerprint isolates ofColletotrichum acutatum, the causative agent of strawberry black spot, an important strawberry disease.
