| Abstract: | Abstract Single-gene mutants of Escherichia coli defective in aerobactin biosynthesis were incubated under non-growing conditions for 2 h with radiolabelled lysine. Analysis of the intermediates produced suggested that acetylation of lysine may be the first step in aerobactin production. |
