| Abstract: | This paper presents an electron microscopic analysis of the behavior and morphology of the sex chromosomes and autosomes during prophase I in the common shrew, Sorex araneus L. The pairing patterns of the X/Y1Y2 and autosomal Robertsonian trivalents are described. |
