Abstract: | A rare primary choriocarcinoma of the stomach developed in a 71-year-old woman admitted with epigastric pain and weight loss. Brushing smears revealed highly atypical malignant cells with bizarre nuclei and prominent nucleoli. Multiple histologic sections revealed pure choriocarcinoma. Human chorionic gonadotropin and keratin were demonstrated in malignant cells by immunohistochemistry. |
