| Abstract: | Carbon monoxide has been found to increase, rather than inhibit, gas uptake in wild plum (Prunus americana) leaf tissue.By means of isotopic carbon monoxide it has been possible to show that the increase results from higher respiratory rates rather than oxidation of carbon monoxide to carbon dioxide.The implications with respect to the Pasteur reaction are discussed briefly. |
