Abstract: | A preliminary investigation of two methods of isolating pathogenic aerobic actinomycetes from a group of Sudanese soils was undertaken. By one method,Nocardia asteroides was isolated from 3 out of 4 soils. By the second method, two strains ofN. brasiliensis and three ofActinomadura madurae were recovered from 4 out of 10 soils. Both procedures seem to be advantageous for isolating pathogenic aerobic actinomycetes from soils. |
