Abstract:The influence of Plasmodium gallinaceum on the fecundity of several strains of Aedes aegypti was studied, and it was demonstrated that the parasite lowered egg production in all six strains examined. With appropriate experimental design, it was shown that the several strains of host varied in the degree to which they were affected by the parasite.
