Abstract: | DNA isolated from 30 Bison bonasus blood samples was used for amplification of a kappacasein gene fragment to detect possible polymorphism. Bovine K-caseins exist in A, B and E variants. In the European bison from Poland, we have found only BB genotypes. Sequencing of the polymerase chain reaction product revealed further polymorphisms typical for B. bonasus. |
