Abstract: | Separation of fibrinogen degradation products D and E by means of gel chromatography cannot be achieved at neutral pH even in the presence of high ionic strength of the elution buffer. It is assumed that fragments D and E are linked together in a complex preventing the separation despite different molecular weights of both components. By means of addition of chaotropic substances like 1 M Kl to the elution buffer clear separation of degradation products D and E on Sephadex G-200 columns can be achieved. |
