| Abstract: | Electron microscope studies of PS-particles obtained by partial nuclease digestion of calf thymus chromatin shows them to be very similar in size and shape to particles which have been detected in native chromatin. Furthermore, measurement of the spacing between pairs of such particles, together with the known length of the DNA coiled in the particles gives an estimate of about 200 base pairs for the chromatin “subunit”. |
