Abstract: | Stable nitroxide free radicals, when combined with biological materials in aqueous solution, showed a decreased electron spin resonance signal. This phenomenon was due to the reduction of the nitroxide radicals by reducing agents identified to be sulfhydryl groups. This finding suggests a new approach to the study of cell membrane sulfhydryl functions. |
