| Abstract: | Plant vacuoles are complex and dynamic organelles. Important advances have been made in our understanding of the transporters present in the tonoplast and of the molecular interactions that allow targeting to vacuoles. Despite these advances, markers that permit vacuoles to be defined unambiguously have not yet been identified. |
