| Abstract: | Vicia faba meristematic and elongating root cells (zones 0–4 and 10–20 mm) contained one nuclease (A1) and four ribonucleases (A2, A3, C1, C2). When the overall activity of each enzyme was expressed per cell, the elongating cells contained 4-, 4-, 4-, 10- and 17-fold more activity than meristematic cells for A1, C1, C2, A2 and A3, respectively. |
