Abstract: | Prior infection of both wheat and barley plants by BYDV predisposed their ears to infection by Cladosporium spp. and Verticillium spp. Aphids and honeydew increased the incidence of Cladosporium on wheat ears but not on barley. This difference between crops was attributed to the larger number ot aphids on the wheat. In the glasshouse, aphids and honeydew, but not honeydew alone, increased Cladosporium populations. |
