| Abstract: | Pseudomonas aeruginosa mutants requiring salicylic acid for pyochelin biosynthesis were isolated after chemical mutagenesis by plating on a siderophore detection medium. Like the wild type, these mutants incorporated 7-14C]salicylic acid into pyochelin, demonstrating that salicylic acid is an intermediate in the biosynthesis pathway of pyochelin. |
