鸽子洞的人类化石

鸽子洞遗址经过1973和1975发掘，发现大量石制品、用火遗迹和动物化石。笔者在鸽子洞所出的动物碎骨中拣出三件人类化石,它们的形态特征及尺寸都和现代人没有区别,属发展阶段的晚期智人,地质时代为晚更新世晚期。

THE HUMAN FOSSILS OF GEZI CAVE, LIAONING PROVINCE

In the autumn of 1983, the author identified some human fossils from the fossil fragment bones which had been excavated from the Gezi cave palaeolithic site in 1973 and 1975. The human fossils include a fragment of parietal, a fragment of temporal and a patella. They are slightly fossilized and greyish-yellow in colour. The fragment of parietal is the back part of the right pasietal bone, 59.5 mm. in length, 39.4 mm. in width, and 5.1 mm. In thickness. The fragment of temporal is the part of the mastoid process. The patella has a light damage on its facies articularis. The surface of patella is rough with height 45 mm., width 45 mm. and thickness 21 mm., W/H index is 100. The fossil patella is very close to that of the modern man and different from that of the Jinniuishan man. The human fossils belong to Homo sapiens of Late Pleistocene.
