| Abstract: | Two new alkaloids, calpurmenine (12β,13α-dihydroxylupanine) and its 13α-pyrrolylcarboxylic acid ester have been isolated from a South African sample of Calpurnia aurea. The alkaloid 10,13-dihydroxylupanine, earlier found in Cadia purpurea but absent from Ethiopian material of Calpurnia aurea, was also identified. |
