Abstract: | REVERSIBLE depolymerization of labile microtubular protein can occur in the presence of anaesthetics at concentrations comparable to those in clinical use1. Allison and Nunn2 proposed a possible mechanism of anaesthesia involving the interaction of inhalational anaesthetics with protein molecules, of which the effect on microtubules is an example. |
