Abstract: | Rye cv. Dańkowskie was seeded in September and desiccated with glyphosate in May of the following year. Transplants of tomato cv. Rumba were planted on plot covered with rye mulch and also on plot cultivated conventionally. Weed infestation on no-tilled plot was reduced significantly in comparison to conventional tillage during the first three weeks after planting of tomatoes. Temperature of no-tilled soil covered with rye mulch was lower during the whole period of vegetation. Total and marketable yield and size of tomato fruits were significantly bigger in conventional cultivation. |
