Intramolecular catalysis of biomimetic Michael additions to cyclopentenones |

| Abstract: | A study of the Michael additon of n-propyl mercaptan to a series of cyclopentenones shows that intramolecular hydrogen bonding enhances the rate. The possible significance of this observation is discussed. |
