Abstract: | Summary Suspension cultures ofCatharanthus roseus filtered (with or without a vacuum) and resuspended in fresh or spent medium will release serpentine into the medium. This treatment is associated with small increases in pH and conductivity of the medium. The released serpentine quickly disappears, and is probably taken up by the cells. |
