Abstract: | Summary Chloroplast DNA of Chlamydomonas reinhardi contains many inverted repeated sequences. Analysis by hydroxyapatite binding, S1 nuclease digestion, and electron microscopy indicates that these sequences are 0.1–0.3 kilobase pairs in length, are widely distributed in the chloroplast genome, and make up 4–7% of the chloroplast DNA.Abbreviations RNA
