Abstract:The distribution of UV-induced repair-replicated DNA patches among reiterated and unique murine and human DNA has been studied by molecular reassociation. DNA-DNA renaturation was employed to fractionate labeled repair-replicated and normal cellular DNA sequences according to their reiteration frequencies. Results indicate that repair replicated DNA patches are distributed uniformly within highly repeated, moderately repeated and single copy DNA sequences. This could be due to the random localization of UV-induced lesions and repairs in the cultured murine and human cells.
