Abstract:The human intestinal tract contains a large number of microorganisms which are directly involved in various metabolic activities of the body and closely related to human health. Studies have shown that the composition and stability of gut microbiota are influenced by many factors from host and environment, among which dietary factors play a crucial role. In particular, the high|fat diet in Western food has led to changes in the structure of intestinal flora, resulting in some chronic, non|communicable and immune|related diseases. In the past few decades, the role of gut microbiota in human health has received increasing attention. Different diets can have important effects on the composition and diversity of gut microbiota. In this review, we summarized the relationship among intestinal microorganisms, human health and the role of probiotics in diet, for the purpose of providing theoretical guidance for establishing a healthy diet structure, and providing reference for the prevention and treatment of corresponding diseases.
Keywords:Gut microbiota   Probiotics   Western diet   Human health
