| Abstract: | The synthesis of metabolically stable methylenebis(phosphonate) analogues of 2-, 4-, and 6-pyridones of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) is reported. In contrast to natural pyrophosphates, these NAD analogues are able to penetrate the cell membrane and can be used as probes in cellular assays. |
