| Abstract: | In 28 cases of malignant melanoma, paraffin-embedded specimens were analyzed in order to determine the reliability of ploidy results. The material consisted of thin and thick melanomas. The results indicate that useful prognostic information may be obtained in this kind of material by means of DNA measurements, provided that the analysis is performed on morphologically identified tumor cells. The value of DNA measurements in malignant melanomas may, however, not be as clear as has been reported for several other tumors. |
