Abstract: | When synthetic [1-14C]5-hydroperoxy-eicosatetraenoic acid was incubated with rat basophilic cells, incorporation of the radiolabel into slow reacting substance (SRS) could be demonstrated as evidenced by comigration of spasmogenic activity and radioactivity after purification by high pressure liquid chromatography. This provides direct evidence that SRS is a product of the lipoxygenase pathway. |
