| Abstract: | A new study by Arany et al. demonstrates that the metabolic master regulator peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPARgamma) coactivator-1alpha (PGC-1alpha) can promote angiogenesis. These findings show that alterations in metabolic homeostasis are linked to angiogenesis, which raises exciting opportunities for novel proangiogenic and antiangiogenic therapies in various diseases. |
